About This Experience
This is the dinner-first version of a Teide night: a climate-controlled coach collects you from hotel pickup points across South Tenerife, and the guide narrates the drive up — volcanic history, the endemic plants that survive at this altitude, and the legends attached to the caldera, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Dinner is at Restaurante 7 Cañadas in La Orotava, at 2,130 m inside the national park itself. The set menu runs to three courses — rancho canario or soup, then chicken in salmorejo sauce, fish with onions or a vegetarian burger with Canarian potatoes, then dessert of the day — with bread, water and wine included, and the windows look out over lava fields toward the peak.
Sunset is toasted with a glass of chilled Cava or orange juice, and a free time-lapse video and photograph of the sunset are shared afterwards. Once it is dark the guides bring out four telescopes and run a laser-guided tour of the sky, mixing the science with the mythology. A second free photo puts you against the star field.

The coach ride through the National Park was an unexpected surprise... even though we knew we were travelling through it to get to Teide. The scenery and commentary were very interesting. The restaurant was a little uncomfortable as we all seemed to be squashed into one side, but the food was tasty. The meal was followed by a short walk to the sea of clouds to watch the sunset which was lovely. The night sky's tour was great, and we had the added bonus of a full moon 🌝 Would definitely recommend a trip. Staff all very polite and helpful

This trip was amazing and a must see for all. We thoroughly enjoyed this, along with our 2 children (14 & 11). The guide was so knowledgeable along with the astronomer once you get to look at the stars. The downside is the journey back, with nothing to look at it, it seems long but this is obviously the Guides fault; most people slept.
