Hotel pickup covers the south coast between Los Cristianos and Los Gigantes, and — on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays only — Puerto de la Cruz in the north, which is rare in this niche.
The coach climbs through the pine belt and breaks out above the cloud layer at around 2,100 m, with photo stops inside the national park along the way. From up there the Atlantic and the neighbouring islands sit below you, and the light on the lava fields in the last hour before sunset is the reason most people book a sunset-and-stars combination rather than a pure night session.
Dinner is three courses with drinks at a restaurant inside the park, then the sky show: an astronomer guide runs live commentary on how to read the night sky and sets up telescopes on whatever the season is offering. Each coach runs in a single language, so the commentary is not split between groups.
At nine hours this is a full evening, and the price reflects the dinner, the distance and the astronomer. If you want the same sky in a fraction of the time, the small-group telescope sessions on this site run 1.5 to 3 hours — but they expect you to drive yourself there.

The trip was a good mixture of activities, there were many comfort breaks for toilets. The food was hot and served quickly, especially given the number of guests accommodated. The guide Nico was very knowledgeable, he tried good humour, his jokes are of the Dad joke category. He was kind and considerate to myself and family, and aware of our mild disabilies without questions supported and directed us appropriately (thank you). Stargazing was was informative, and well organised so that everyone had an equal chance to see some preset constellations. The bus driver Bartholomew was highly skilled, especially on some of the tight narrow corners in the park. Bravo, and thank you for keeping us safe. The bus was very comfortable and clean and locked up on stops. Thank you for an excellent day!

Thankyou for the great experience. I had a wonderful time joining this trip 😊. Especially the part where we got an explanation about the stars, constellations and watch the moon through the telescope. The guide is really great, funny and explains everything very well. A fellow passanger took a beautiful picture of the moon which we could see through the telescope. The only thing i didn't like was the food on the trip and i wish we had more time to watch the stars. Our guide, Jasper, was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and helpful throughout the entire experience. The driver was also brilliant — apologies for forgetting his name, but he deserves credit too. The tour itself was amazing. The views were absolutely stunning, with plenty of beautiful viewpoints to stop at along the way. Looking through the telescopes was a real highlight; I personally would have loved a little more time with them, but that’s just my own preference. The stargazing at the end was the perfect way to finish the day. Would 100% recommend, and I’d definitely do it again.

Is there really pickup from the north of the island?
Yes, from Puerto de la Cruz — but only on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Most Teide stargazing tours collect from the south coast resorts only, so if you are staying in the north this is one of the few products that works without a rental car.
Nine hours seems long. What fills it?
Pickup and the drive up account for a large share, then photo stops in the park, sunset, a full sit-down dinner and the telescope session, then the drive back down and drop-offs. It is a complete evening out rather than a stargazing session with a lift attached.
What language is the tour in?
